in_nomine-digest Sunday, January 12 1997 Volume 01 : Number 001 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Date: Fri, 10 Jan 1997 22:19:59 -0600 From: dpearcy@io.com (Derek Patton Pearcy) Subject: Test. Hmm. This is a test. I think there's some problem with the list. Derek ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 11 Jan 1997 10:42:44 -0600 From: dpearcy@io.com (Derek Patton Pearcy) Subject: Welcome to my personal hell. Well, well -- what to do, what to do. Here we are in the In Nomine mailing list. It's hard for me to believe it's actually done. I'll have to be holding a finished copy in my claws before I finally hit the closure point, I'm sure. And it doesn't help that I'm working on supplementary material at the same time. Speaking of the final, printed books, the project on press before In Nomine has been plauged by the kinds of problems SJ Games usually encounters. I guess the dark lords of hell accidentally cursed the wrong target this time. Anyway, it's still had its effect on In Nomine -- our book's not being printed until later today, Saturday. This isn't going to affect our ship date, or so we're assured by nervous, sweaty printers. The advantage of this is that they're going to FedEx us finished, printed interiors of the book before binding, so I'll get to see a printed copy of the inside of the book on Tuesday! I'm happy. In Nomine is still expected to ship on January 17th from the printer, and ship from SJ Games on the 27th. Depending on how close to a distributor you live, you could see it in your local stores within two days, but no later than a week. Customers in Canada are in for something of a surprise. Since our printer is in Canada, we're going ahead and shipping to our Canadian distributors straight from the factory -- what sense would it make to send all those books from Canada to Texas only to turn a bunch of them back around to Canada? None whatsoever. So basically, In Nomine will be available in Canada early. You guys lucked out. Thank our Print Buyer, Monica Stephens. Try to keep this under your hat for a little while, if not forever. Just smile to your friends in America and take advantage of the opportunity. We don't want the other distributors to get upset. Yeah, I know it's another country, but commerce knows few borders and jealousy knows none. Anyway, whenever you get a copy of In Nomine, I hope you like it. Anyone can post to this list who cares to -- send the post to in_nomine-l@lists.io.com -- and I look forward to seeing some interesting comments going back and forth once the book's widely available. In the meantime, I'll be posting to the list every other day with advance warnings of new supplement ideas, more info on the book's progress, and any other news that people tell me they'd like to hear. Are preorders of In Nomine available from Steve Jackson Games, or must we rely upon our local retailers? I'd much prefer the former (I'd get the game more quickly, for one thing!)... -- fish. ------------------------------ End of in_nomine-digest V1 #1 *****************************
