August 5, 2016 – FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Well-known comic artist draws limited-edition Super Munchkin Guest Artist Edition to mark 15 years since first Munchkin game

AUSTIN, Texas (August 5, 2016) – Comic artist Lar deSouza has been known to dress up at cons as a pork-themed Sailor Scout called – appropriately – Sailor Bacon.

So it's good that people know him as the web comic artist for Least I Could Do and Looking For Group, because if they didn't, he'd just be another guy doing cosplay of a pig in a Sailor Moon leotard. Lar's sense of humor is just one of the many qualities that made Steve Jackson Games eager to work with him.

So now, deSouza has added "drawing Munchkin" to his list of skills and experiences, probably right under "winning a Shuster Award" and "also winning a Prix Aurora Award for Artistic Achievement in Canadian Science Fiction."

He lends a modern, stylized approach to this limited-edition Super Munchkin Guest Artist Edition. His illustrations go perfectly with the game's pulpy sense of fun and the puns/jokes about the superhero genre. After all, this is a game where you can fight a super villain known as the Big Ol' Planet Eater Guy using your jet-powered Pogo Stick and some sweet Heroic Angst, maybe even with a Plot Device thrown in at the last second.

So put on your Utility Girdle, ladies and gentlemen: This game is hilarious and heroic.

DeSouza's Super Munchkin Guest Artist Edition is the latest in a line of titles Steve Jackson Games is releasing throughout 2016 to celebrate 15 years since the original release of Munchkin.

Ah, how time has flown. Just like the superheroes in this game.
