SJ Games To Offer Miniatures

Steve Jackson Games, for years one of the top roleplaying publishers, will enter the miniatures market later this year.

Heading the new metal casting division will be Richard Kerr, former head sculptor for Ral Partha and creator of the "Off The Wall Armies." Commented Steve Jackson: "Richard is a master sculptor and painter, as well as an old friend. I'm confident that he will create figures that I'll be very proud of."

The first planned miniatures from SJ Games will be a re-release of the 1/300 Ogre vehicle line, supporting the Year 2000 relaunch of the classic science fiction game. Later releases will support other SJ Games products, including licenses.

The SJ Games line of figures will be sold two ways: individually through the company's online store, Warehouse 23 (www.warehouse23.com), and in boxed sets through regular distribution channels. The on-sale date for the first figures will probably be in late August, but that depends on several factors, including delivery of the casting equipment.
